The Santa Experience
We really wanted to like Santa. Seriously! With Sam off to a bridal appointment, I was tasked with getting Sloane dressed. I managed to get her all ready just in time for Sam to come home, only for us to dash back out to see the big guy himself. Sloane was decked out in her dress and shiny new shoes, and of course, she took off like a rocket around the house in her excitement. I couldn’t resist joining the fun and managed to snap a cute pic before she zoomed away again. We all had such high hopes for this Santa encounter!
That is, until we arrived. Sloane took one look at Santa, and I could practically see the gears turning in her head. But what really sealed the deal was the kid in front of us—screaming his head off while Santa held him like a hot potato. She glanced at me, and I knew right then: this wasn’t going to happen. Meanwhile, Sam was blissfully chatting with a friend, completely oblivious to the chaos. I couldn't help but crack the biggest smile and readied my camera for the impending drama. I was not disappointed!
After the epic battle to free herself from the clutches of the Claus, we found another photo prop, and this was the best we could manage. Maybe next year, Sloane! At least the cookies were a hit—Santa would be proud!
