Fun weekend
Well, coming off the 4Th of July weekend has taken some time. We had family come in to stay with us and to say it was a surprised blessing would be putting it mildly. Tim's nephew and family came in on short notice from Oklahoma where the nephew, Jeremy has been newly stationed from Colorado. They are just getting settled into their new home and thought to pay a visit to Tim seeing as how Jeremy has been away for a while serving our country as an Army ranger.
We had a blast going to the lake and letting everyone just relax and unwind. Also letting Tim and Jeremy catch up on new happenings and reminiscing about the good ol days. Jeremy has a beautiful wife, Kyra and a son, Kemper. Kemper is only 5 but he loves anything Lego's and so him and William hit it off perfectly even with the age difference. Kyra, Sam and I spent time as well taking in the water and sun and also had lots of fun hanging around the house and an evening of Mexican food and good conversation while all the boys did a guy day out at the lake and wrapping it up with lakeside fireworks put on by the local town.
We did have a little emergency after the guys went off to begin their guy day by taking to the MX track when after they left our favorite furry baby, Pepe, had severe multiple seizures and we rushed him to the vet. Tim decided it was time to put Pepe on medication and that in itself was a very difficult thing for Tim to do but it was either the medicine or not medicating him and letting the seizures get worse and Pepe never come out of one the longer time went by. The on call vet that we took him to told us about a new medicine that just came out that wouldn't be so harsh on Pepe's organs, shortening his life tremendously, so Tim opted for that. Pepe will be on the med for the rest of his life but it will be well worth it to spend the years not worrying if this is the seizure that will take so much joy, laughter and love away from us. Pepe really is a part of our family and is even treated like one of the kids.
Now, to say this. That the emergency was diverted is ALSO an understatement but on a MUCH lighter note after we all got back home the guys went off to continue their day with me shooing them along saying us girls would take care of Pepe, go get his meds and get him all fixed up...Oh we did alright. Fix him up that is. After the boys left I went and got his meds and came home. I open it up to discover that the med came in liquid form and not pill form like the vet stated. Ok, I can work with that. I've raised two kids that always had medicine in liquid form. Lets do this!!! Long story short?? I overdosed the dog...Damn liquid form meds and math! Anyway, lets just say if dogs could drive and Pepe were to go out he would have been pulled over, tested and thrown in doggy jail for being so drunk he was borderline passing out. Now that Pepe is OK thanks to us making him get up and "walk the line" very often, we can laugh and everyone can harass me for drugging the pooch. All I can say is that I don't blame Pepe one bit these days for choosing to snuggle up to Tim rather than me. I'd run too if I knew I were coming with that damn syringe that I didn't read right. lol!
Moving on, after the guys did get back they had fun telling us that 5 year old Kemper and 11 year old William were regular ladies men. Kemper had 2 girlfriends while William concentrated on one. We have the pics on FB to prove it too. Will showed them all his new moves on the knee board and tube he's learned to ride and even took one of the lil hotties for a spin on the tube, lol! The day before we all went and Tim was pulling Will and fishtailed him where it had Will physically skipping across the water before stopping. That means Will fishtailed, couldn't hold on and went sailing across the water skipping three times before sinking, lol! He was wide eyed and mouth opened and when we came to pick him up he wanted to do it again but NO fishtailing this time!! Lol!
We all have been taken by surprise that William is getting so into going to the lake and into water sports as much as he is seeing as how all the years before he wouldn't get on anything even if bribed. He would go to the lake with us but didn't like Tim driving the boat fast and then only swimming a couple of minutes before getting back in the boat wanting to know when were were going home. Now? He'll start Friday asking if we're going to the lake, get up Saturday morn asking when we are leaving, stay on the knee board and or tube as long as he can, get mad if he has to get off and as we are leaving asks when we're coming back. To say he's coming out of his shell is an understatement and we are all glad to see it!!!

Hey, my old friend once overdosed her kid with liquid paregoric. She thought the instructions said "one drop for each pound" when it actually read "one drop for each year." LOL But, he was okay after sleeping around the clock. So, I'm sure Pepe will be fine although sticking to Tim might not be a bad idea. JUST KIDDDING!!!!
So glad that Will is taking to the water now; that's great!! Y'all have fun this summer; it'll be Fall before we know it. :)
